In this conference we will discuss the latest technological advancements in courtrooms and in courts administration systems in regard to digitalization projects and the use of Artificial Intelligence. We will examine the role of machines in case management and in adjudicating cases, and how this role helped improving the efficiency of judicial systems in number of leading comparative jurisdictions. Moreover, with legal tech experts, we will explore what courts would look like in 10 years from now taking into consideration AI advancements and the emerging technologies in this field.

Formerly a senior judicial reform specialist at the World Bank and IT program manager for the Netherlands judiciary, she was actively involved in designing and building digital procedures for the civil courts in the Netherlands. She regularly lectures on court Information technology and artificial intelligence AI at universities, judicial academies and postgraduate schools and works as an IT adviser to judiciaries around the world. She was the acting expert for the Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE, Council of Europe) Opinion 14 on information technologies and the courts

He has been appointed as an Appellate Judge, and has obtained the Certificate of Achievement from Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development. Judge Al-Sabousi has held numerous judicial positions, and chaired the Committee of Experts and Arbitrators. In addition to his current role, he chairs the Advisory Team for Smart Services at Dubai Courts.
Also, Judge Al-Sabousi leads Dubai Courts Competitiveness Team, representing the United Arab Emirates, which came in the first rank regionally and ninth globally, according to the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index.

Advisor to H.E. Chairman of the Board of Grievances, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD from Imam Mohammed bin Saud University, in which he works as an associate professor alongside his role as a judge. He began his career as a Shari’a Advisor at Al Rajhi Bank. After that, he held numerous judicial positions. Judge Al-Du’aiji has written various research papers, and has attended several training courses and seminars. Also, he is a member of Saudi Scientific and Fiqh Society.
